Ducu Bertzi - live concerts in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto

Ducu Bertzi is a beloved Romanian singer and composer, whose career spans more than 40 years. During the communist regime, Ducu Bertzi was part of ”Cenaclul Flacăra”, a group of artists expressing their freedom during the years of harsh authoritarian rule through music and poetry. ”Cenaclul Flacăra” was a true mass cultural phenomenon and one of the most powerful artistic and literary event, reaching out to millions of people in what was described as a Romanian Woodstock of sorts. The artists were the light bearers at a time when all expressions of artistic and cultural freedom were truncated and censored by the communist regime.

The concert in Ottawa is part of a Charity Ball organized by the Romanian St. Matthew Church of Ottawa. Traditional foods will be served.

The concert is produced with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Romania in Ottawa.

When: Saturday, May 14th, 17.00 – 23.00 in Ottawa.

Where: Ukrainian Banquet Hall, 1000 Byron Ave., K2A 0J3.

The concerts in Montreal and Toronto are organized by the Association Rocade. More information on: http://www.associationrocade.ca/index.html
