Joe Boyle and pages of Romanian history – lecture at Ottawa University

On Friday, September 23rd, the Ottawa University Group of Research for Central and East-European Studies hosted the academic presentation “A Canadians people-to-people diplomacy in Romanian during WWI: Joe Boyle” offered by Ms. Crina Bud, Professor of Romanian language and culture at York University, Toronto.

The presentation focused on the historical events and the involvement of Joe Boyle in the negotiations among the European powers that impacted Romania during the WWI. With a topic that raises the interest and fascination of historians, diplomats and the general public, Ms. Bud’s presentation offered the opportunity for in-depth knowledge of this historical period in Romania, the personality of Joe Boyle and his attachment for Romania.
